Progression into Pre- Prep

The transition between Nursery and Pre-Prep is seamless, thanks to the close collaboration between the Nursery and the School. From reading sessions with the Pre-Prep teachers to settling sessions in the Pre-Prep classroom, the children have multiple opportunities throughout the year to get to know their new class teacher while still being supported by their dedicated keyworkers.

From Pre-Prep through to Year 6, The Chadderton boasts excellent pastoral care that supports each individual child. High-quality care and support are woven throughout our school; not only do our children form strong relationships with their peers and class teacher due to small class sizes, but they also have the opportunity to interact with and form bonds with other staff members through our fantastic extra-curricular offerings, such as board games, science, and netball clubs.

All Nursery pupils at Little Gems are guaranteed automatic entry into our Reception class, although places are limited. We ensure a smooth transition through a welcoming and supportive environment and a wide range of activities designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Our combination of structured and child-led activities helps children develop their skills and knowledge at their own pace, making them ‘Reception ready.’
